New Kids on the Block

A local’s guide to Aspen’s newest restaurants and shops.

Change is inevitable and Aspen is no exception. Recently, Aspen has welcomed several new restaurants and clothing stores that are open and ready for your business. COVID-19 has changed the way our restaurants and stores operate, but that has not stopped our small mountain town from adapting!

New Restaurants

Joonas Aspen:
Tapas anyone? Joonas is known for their tapas and incredible cocktails and wines. Joonas Aspen is located in the basement below Duemani and next to Bear Den. The restaurant has a laid back yet chic feel to it. Moody lighting and a large bar will catch your attention along with the impeccable service.

     

Nakazawa:
Nakazawa is Aspen’s newest sushi restaurant. Chef Daisuke Nakazawa is a well known and critically acclaimed sushi chef originally from Tokyo. Nakazawa is one of the many restaurants he has opened with some of the others being located in Washington DC, New York City and Seattle. You won’t want to miss Aspen’s newest sushi experience!

Pussyfoot Steeps:
Have you been craving American comfort food? If the answer is yes, then this is the place for you. Affordable, delicious and convenient. Pussyfoot Steeps is located in the Aspen Business center and has a wide variety of options that will please everyone. Pussyfoot Steeps is the local’s newest hot spot!

New Shops

Alicia Adams Alpaca:
Alicia Adams Alpaca is a family owned and operated company. The family started breeding Suri alpacas, a rare breed of alpaca, in New York in 2006 which eventually led to the creation of the current company that sells high quality clothing and home goods. She has been building the business ever since and the company has been featured in numerous magazines such as Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, and Town & Country Magazine.

Perch:
Perch is a new women’s clothing store that is located just a few blocks away from the Silver Queen gondola. The store sells a wide variety of styles and items that are perfect for Après adventures in Aspen. If you’re looking for a new sweater or tee, check out Perch!

Golden Goose:
Golden Goose is famous for their sneakers that have become a wardrobe staple across the globe. Their new store on the Hyman Mall sells all of their products that include sneakers, boots, bags and even clothing. Founded in Italy in 2000, Golden Goose is a classic yet modern take on the sneaker.

Georgio Armani:
Aspen’s newest pop-up shop is Georgio Armani. The shop is located in the old Rossignol building and features two levels of all things ski fashion. The store is absolutely stunning and has incredible chalet themed interior design. If you are looking for a new ski outfit or après look go check out Georgio Armani before it’s gone!
