Old Snowmass

About

Not quite at the midpoint of the Valley where Snowmass Creek runs into the Roaring Fork River lies Snowmass, locally referred to as “Old Snowmass” to distinguish its location from Snowmass Village. It is an unincorporated community with it’s own post office and serviced by the Aspen School District. Spectacular mountain views, clear running creeks, hilly terrain and wide-open spaces make for a naturally peaceful environment with city conveniences just minutes away.

This beautiful residential area is in a countryside setting with many multi-million dollar estate-like properties, ranches and single-family homes. Step outside your front door for a quiet walk or bike ride with many other outdoor activities close at hand.

The world famous Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the only year round facility of its kind, is located in the tranquil environs of Old Snowmass.
Snowmass is also home to St. Benedict’s Monastery, a working community of Trappist monks. They offer contemplative and meditative experiences to all seekers as well as extended stays at their Retreat Center, all in this spiritually inspiring mountain setting.
